There was a thread on that a couple months ago

Aha! Found it!
http://www.dubstepforum.com/recommendat ... 51701.html

There was also a more recent one about Olaf Stapledon.

Otherwise, give me an idea of what sort of things you like to read about and I might be able to recommend some to you.

Yeah that was a pretty interesting one. His Uplift books are one of my favourite series.

Nope. I just got that, not read it yet. Any good?

The Uplift saga is 6 books: Sundiver, Startide Rising, The Uplift War, Brightness Reef, Infinity's Shore, Heaven's Reach. It's split into 2 trilogies. The first one's relatively serious but I found much hilarity in the other 5. Only go for it if you do not have a dislike for sentient chimpanzees and dolphins, and enjoy random alien races.

Earth is pretty cool, from what i remember about it its pretty run of the mill in terms of havin to save the earth kinda thing, but i like the extra level of science in it, however ridiculous it gets!

Cool, the blurb on the back seemed interesting.

Be sure to check out Robert Lynn Asprin (did the Myth series).

Actually its said that when Robert Lynn Asprin died, and was found, he was holding a copy of a Pratchett book.
