Bass Clef definitely uses hardware live... along with a drum and a trombone. Dunno if he uses software in the studio...

my boy Zapper does live PA with all hardware.
he has some releases with Bay Area Dubstep, among others.

hardware and some software.. either way it ends up in some DAW anyway
