alrite, i'll play nice. i'm saying this cos i like R's attitude. i think his arrogance and general way of being r actually kind of cool, and cos of this, of all the ppl ive seen on here, 2me he shows more potential of coming up with somethin truly original and innovative: cos he questions things and doesnt just swallow all the hype and bullshit.

i just wish u'd let go of the burial thing bruv, it doesnt do u any favors. its time to move into unchartered territory and go yr own way. tho 2b fair u sound a little less like him than u did like a year or so ago.

mind u, none of my business really...whatever

I dont know if this is really on track with you lot but a friend of mine suggested an artist called Clubroot to me, I was well into it, as I am a fan of a lot of ambient work and Burial as well. See what you think.

I think they made an entire thread about R in the general forum.

Your name rings out.

Good music

EDIT: people that sound even remotely like Burial get more criticism than people who sound like everything else, I've noticed.

it was about slewstep @ myspace

i get your point.. but to me roqqerts music is uniquely different to burials.. it obviously has the same ambient vibe, but the beats are hardly the same and the whole mood and setup of the tracks have a completely different feel imo.

like someone else said.. anyone who is even remotely similar to burial gets marked as a copycat.. kind of sad because this way a lot of the ambient 2-steppy stuff never gets out properly :o

I was thinking the same. I have had a listen to his bits on myspace and he has not got any of the swing/groove that Burial has with his drums. The closest artist to Burial i have heard of is Synkro.

I do like Rs music from what I have heard btw!;)
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

i would say that tune preview is remarkably similar to burial - not uniquely different

i mean its a beautiful tune - I'm just sayin

edit : sounds more like burial than synkro imo!

yeah ok, you're right about "preview". it's very much along the lines of a burial tune with the noise in the background and so on but the rest of the tunes aren't really imo

yeah yeah.. just saying that one tune is like dead on - impressive like - no slate

from what I've seen over time he makes lots of different sounding tunes .. which is wonderful imo

Does not have the same perc shuffles and grooves going on as Burial does. It is on the right track with the samples used tho!
