You can already do live document sharing/editing on Microsoft Live Meeting so I'm not really sure why they're making such a big deal out of it.

The realtime translation tech tho, that'd be quite astounding. Except that if the person(s) you were chatting with weren't good enough at your language to type at you in the first place, they probably wouldn't know whether the translation was correct or not and therefore wouldn't know they needed to correct what was said! And would a function that's just a part of Google wave actually be better at translation than any of the multitude of websites that dedicate themselves solely to providing language translation algorithms, and fail consistently at doing so? And another thing - even the best touch typer in the world will make typos, I'd expect the general populace to make a lot, especially in chat. That's gonna throw the entire translation algorithm into complete chaos!

I foresee major disasters and tragedies ahead.

i hate facebook because of the layout structure, the cosmetics, the color, refresh handling, and levels of permission mutations. It's all a screwy fucking nightmare. utter garbled up garbage mess. I've done some things on the developer side and can honestly say that it's worse than VB.NET

I visit 3 forums...a canadian hip-hop one, this one, and glitch-hop forum. In the small ass town where I've had the misfortune of living for the past 4 years, that's the ONLY way I keep up with any music I'm really into. There's no culture, no scene other than indie-rock, and nobody to talk to about these things. So I for one would be quite sad if DSF shut down...at least until I moved out of this shithole.

facebook is absurd. it was kinda cool to catch up with people I havent seen in years, but even that reconnection is superficial. I'd only meet up with very few of those people if I had the opportunity

Exactly same here.
I joined here wanting to talk to people about dubstep because there is nobody where I live who has even heard of it.
I get 'Who is dubstep?' :o

I was very gung ho about spreading the sound last year, when I first heard it. But it's not exactly the most accessible music. well thats not true...the more melodic stuff is a bit easier...but most other shit is too dark for these people. I'd go to parties and commandeer the sound system. after a few "the fuck is this!!!! we wanna hear S Club 7 again!!!" (yes this actually happened). I pretty much go to parties and spend most of the time on the patio chainsmoking now. I don't care to try and spread it anymore.... when winter comes, I'll be doing the same regardless. I have caught some girls shaking they ass to it though... :D

although cats out here do like some leftfiedish/underground hip-hop so it aint all bad.

S..Club..7 :o
Fuck that lol.

I'm the same though, tried spreading the genre out Dubstep to alot of my friends. They really wern't having any of it, questionning me 'Wheres the words?' and 'How are you sposed to dance to this?'

I dont know of any other girls who like dubstep, so if I go out to a dubstep night, which is rarely due to work, I get alot of wierd looks while I skank out

I hope someone kills facebook...I use it, yet I have come to the conclusion I don't give a fuck about what anyone does in their meaningless life, and yet I constantly read the posts for some reason about there latest coffee find or something. I refuse to use twitter. Utterly worthless. I used twitter a whole 3 times. Here was my last post, " My balls itch. Now, everyone will know."

Wave looks pretty cool though.

it really is...and now I'm in the habit. Facebook status update on it's own.

the most embarrassing part is you can sync up most of the other social networking sites to twitter, on some Voltron/Power Rangers shit.
