He's not a legend...all he fucking does is whine about stuff that aint funny. I never hear him making jokes that don't involve being a miserable twat

Have you read any of his articles? He's an incredibly intelligent man, the whole screenwipe thing is a put on egotistical persona.

Yeah. His writing does not translate to T,V very well at all. Deciding to put himself
on television completely undermines his style of humour. I lost a lot of respect for him when he started fronting his shows and frankly i can't really be arsed watching the smug faced tnuc.

No it's not his popularity that pisses me off. It's him, or rather the persona he chooses to projest which i find doesn't work on tv as well as it does on the page.

I find that's always the way with writers with a heavily cynical style, when you actually see them they lose their sort of air of superiority that the reader buys in to. Just like Victor Lewis Smith, his column in the Evening Standard was good but then you see him on tv and realise that he's just a bit of a sad, whiny tnuc with shit dreads
