Re: The Chronic or 2001?
Chronic, I remember when he left NWA and people just didnt know what to expect from him.
The album surpassed anything at the time and with the Easy-E diss he created some extra promo for himself.
Dont forget this is the album that showcased Snoop, who just killed it.

For Pikey and Croama, I didn't put an option for neither because I presumed that if you don't like Dre you wouldn't be in the thread.
It's a poll to see which people prefer so saying neither doesn't really help anyway.

The Chronic. My favourite tracks just happen to have zero Dre verses.

^ What he said I said.

For me it's Doggystyle, then The Chronic. I picked Chronic in the poll though.
I know it's snoop, but they were all closely related back then, it was like an ongoing theme or something. G-Funk era.

2001 probably meant more to me once - I must have been 12 and it's what got me deep into hip hop =P
Overall I like the sound of the Chronic more - I like those rough samples and obvious aping of Parliament - that shit is FUNKY

had 2001 on a fair bit today, such a good album. Both albums are so so good.
Re: The Chronic or 2001?
Holy motherfuck, 2001 was like my looking glass into the world of proper music, that was the first album i took and listened too that wasn't in the charts, and i was mind fucked, beautiful production and vocal performances from start to finish, and they played still Dre in fabric the other night and it still tore it up! so that does it for me

Hmm, I like both albums, but The Chronic wins.
Although neither album has anything on 36 chambers, Liquid Swords, Sun Rises in the East etc...
