i usally cut some where between....100hz and 150hz and usually boost some in the 200hz region

Tend not to layer, and if then just 1 or two extra.

I also tend to make space around my snare, rather than taking away from my snare to fit it in. I like my snares, bro.

i usually dont want my snares going any lower than 150hz but i only highpass them if its necessary. im trying less and less to filter sounds and use eq more.

I tend to roll off the low end, about where the low end of my kick ends. (ie, if my kick's low end cuts at 400, I'll roll the snare off there.) Leave's a little room between the two, assuming there's any overlap to begin with. Which there shouldn't be.
