in another thread about wobble( which after searching just now I couldn't find...:( ) we went back to 1982 to the tune that really started what we now know as wobble bass or synthbass...Heaven 17 "Let Me Go"

and for sure there are really shitty wobble tunes out there. horrible preset ones.

that's more proto acid than proto wobble

here's a track from 1984 with a wobblish bassline

it's not LFO, it's an arpeggiator, but the notes have a long attack so it gives a bit of a wobblish feeling

i too don't mind a bit of wobble, mainly when i'm out at nights though because it does go off on the dancefloor.
I can't speak for everyone on "hating wobble" i just think that one of the reasons so many people are sick of it is that its the first thing people latch onto when trying to make a "really heavy/dirty/filthy dubstep choon!!"
so when you think about it like that you're bound to hear hours worth of poor wobbles which is just depressing really. personally i was more into wobbly tunes around 2006 so you can imagine 4 years down the line not that much in the wobble bracket sounds too original. . .

On a total thread hijacking tip, this tune has a wobble and is called houmous, so there you go...
Soundcloud

Anyway, as has been said in these discussions many times before in many other threads as well as this one. Wobbles are great, if done in new and interesting ways. They're not new and Dubstep is not the only genre with them. They're very easy to make, so lots of poor producers make rubbish tunes that have a prominenent wobble and not a lot else but the innovators will always come out with sick tunes...

On of my personal favourites of the moment...
