My flatmate is in a metal band, and their new EP was recorded in Logic. They want a dubstep intro to their EP, and luckily i'm using Logic too. They're planning on getting the projects from the producer and giving them to me so i can take sections out and edit them into their intro.

Drum fills, guitar squeals, blast beats, beatdowns, growls.

Going to be nasty :2:

Converge have and always will be the innovators of the metallic hardcore until the day they retire. One of the best live bands I've ever had the pleasure of seeing and they're all amazing artists out of the band too. Kurt Ballou with Godcity Recording Studios (Beecher/Converge/Hope Con etc) and Jake with his artwork and solo stuff.

I wouldn't say Borgore is a "metalstep" artist per say, but more so producers like Culprate etc.

Without going into the wanky banter about whether or not this should be tried, this is my 2 cents.

1) Listen to some Celtic Frost records (pre-"Cherry Orchards" LP)
2) Download the Nick Crow Wagner Mk2 Sharp vst
3) Avoid displays of technical prowess for their own sake and remember you're writing songs. This is true in both metal AND dubstep, so if you're hybridizing it's doubly true.

i would love to collab with some people on this
I have one of my tone downed clips of this idea on my soundcloud actually

but i have better more guitar used examples of this that on my comp, I will send song files to anyone who is interested in working with me.

as i said i have better examples of elements of metalstep but i dont like the tracks enough to upload them

plus y is there such a hate on midrange basses some people like them and some people dont but i say we should leave it at that
i am proud to say i like tracks with them and tracks without them :D
