Check out Equinox his stuff more on the smoother/Soulful tip, but it's definitely keeps Jungle vibes, also the tunes that came out on the now defuncted label Bassbin. And also some of Calibre's stuff around 2003-2006, Digital, Total Science(mostly their older tunes) Potential Bad Boy, A-Sides, Breakage etc...

Jungle just was'nt all about the Ragga styles, there were many flavas in the mix.

Loads of heads mate, not all of it gets vinyl releases, but basically you're looking for tunes by the following heads:

Equinox - His Scientific Wax label and his Scientific Wax Retro label are huge, the former is oldschool influenced jungle and the latter is new jungle at oldschool tempos with oldschool methods
Naphta - (recent 12" of his on Ruff Revival comes with a killer El-B remix of one of his older tunes too, so it's a well handy 12" )
Ricky Force - He's next up on Ruff Revival, remixing a Naphta tune with a Ramadanman remix of another Naphta tune on the flip)
Nolige - One of the Scientific Wax boys, huge releases on Bassbin (RIP), Scientific Wax
Dub One- Badman.
Theory - been quiet for a while, "Conquering Lion" on Function was repressed recently enough though, and is an absolute banger
Breakage - any of the 12"s he put out on Bassbin are top notch new school Jungle - check out "Ask Me", "Rise", "So Vain" and "So Mars" for starters.
Nebula - New head, does deeper atmospheric jungley gear, check his "Chords of Sorrow" 12" on Subtle Audio
Gremlinz & Stranjah - Not into everything they do, but give them an Amen, stand well back and watch sparks fly...

Labels:

Scientific Wax
Ruff Revival
Outsider
Lightless
Ancient Ways
Subtle Audio
Function
Bassbin & Breakin (defunct now, sadly - here's a link to a Knowledge cover mix from 2004 http://www.kmag.co.uk/listen/cd_covers/ ... in_covercd )

Here's the Ruff Revival promo mix for the upcoming releases:

Obviously anyone who loves Jungle should know all about Equinox's Scientific Wax radio show on Jungletrain every second Sunday, right?

Right?

Get to know if you don't - and hour of oldschool followed by an hour of upfront stuff, essential!

Really good documentry.

Is it me or does the jungle scene back then have uncanny similarities to dubstep now.
