I have Power Tools for Synthesizer Programming in hard copy and have rea it cover to cover. It's definately an informative if very dry book. Really helped to solidify my practical synth programming experience with formal concepts and theory.

After reading it, I don't feel like I need to read any other synth programming book, ony because the topic itself is limited to the controls available on modern synths and samplers. In most cases, the controls on offer are limited to the synthesis method employed by the kit.

Thus, once one understands the possibilities of all forms of sound generation, sound shaping and envelopes, learning must progress into less obvious fields like psychoacoustics or foley recording.
