run CHKDSK dude, that saved my HD not too long ago, packed my pants as the external I was using for backup started playing up, so I wiped it to try sort it out, copying everything over to my internal hd, at next boot it was dead, imagine my face at that moment.

After that you gotta keep dvd backups, try Mozys online backup too, they do a free 2gb version, big enough for your project files (well it should be anyway), have it backup each week

Cry and be a miserable tnuc for a few days

try to troubleshoot the problem and repair if at all possible

if that fails, borrow, sell, do whatever i could to replace my laptop.

I really need a back up one anyways, i have one laptop, running production programs and samples etc, and i use it to play out on serato.
