Haha...that sucks. I hate that feeling. The feeling I'll get to spin it in 18 months isn't much better either.

This is 2010. Music distribution is easier than it's ever been in the history of...music. Hoarding dubs for more than a few months just seems elitist anymore.

A good DJ is a good DJ. A shitty DJ renown for their big collection of rare & unreleased tracks is basically the musical equivalent of a trust fund kid.
Even the big names don't make that much on tunes. The medium to small names definitely don't make shit. It isn't getting any better. If you wait for a track to get released and purchase it properly then you are probably late on getting tunes. Tunes are worth more unreleased then released because once they are out anyone can get them for free all over the place. An unreleased tune is harder to get but often traded for other music and those with the hot dubs get booked and getting booked is where the money is at! So stuff is going to stay on dub until the a-listers get sick of playing them. Nothing you can do about it. Blame it on the pirates!
