Highlight of the night for me. Took me by complete surprise. Some big new Mystikz dubs too...wowow!

But the man Like Pinch. WTF. That was a lesson in beats and bass...don;t think i heard a melody for an hour and a half. Deeper than deep - zombification!

Skream hit it hard...Lemon!!! Love that TUNE!

Deapoh and Chef BIG UP!!!!

Shouts to Ramadanman...that Bare Dubs 001 you gave me...bit of a confession but i lost it on the night bus! Fell asleep on the no: 3 from Brixton to Oxford Circus and woke up going back to Brixton. The fuckerdriver didn;t wake me up. SO got off at the next stop and must have left the record in my mashed haze. Gutted. Will buy one instead. Support the cause for my wastemanness. Still got the CD tho!

Good night as always but I've got to say was that Annie Nightingale making a fucking fool of herself?

Her ridiculous dancing broke the atmosphere at the front of the dance floor. She came flailing along like a mad banshee where me and my mates were skanking and said to me in a nasty garbled tone get out of my way I've got to dance. She then put her coat and bag in front of the decks while Skream was playing and her coat was lying over the counterwieght of one the decks.

I don't think she's into the music and just wants some kudos for being part of the scene.

Pinch's set was big!!

Thank heavens I managed to catch the last 40 minutes of Deapoh's set - it was good to hear you properly this time. As I said to you last night, you're going to go far. And I'm rarely wrong. Thank heavens I managed to meet and hear a future star before he becomes too big to hang out with the punters lol

Chef and DMZ were my favourite sets, but big up Cotti & Cluekid who have got some really sick riddims and need to be put on earlier in my opinion, e.g. 1130-0100, and who played MUCH better than the last time I heard them.

Surprise of the night was Pinch. I hardly recognised anything he played; technically, it was the most perfect set of the night, with the most unusual productions. Bristol's answer to Burial, maybe? I'm probably going to get merked for this, but after hearing last night's set, if anyone is going to get techno/trance ravers out of the past, into the present and listening to dubstep, I think it would be Pinch.

Come to think of it, some of Skream's set was almost as banging as London squat party techno. Glimpses of a future direction of some dubstep producers, maybe? who knows. Might not be a good thing for dubstep but techno doesn't have enough bass so it could do with some dubsteppin' lol.

Anyway, I enjoyed the first half of Skream's set, but wasn't really feelin it later on. An unexpected disappointment really.

And what's with all the ladies? BARE GASH!!!!!

Dunno if it's just me thinking I'm hench in my Timberlands, but doesn't dubstep seem to attract a lot short ladies? :D I dunno what that means, but who's complaining - ladies are ladies... :)

And as for some of the Bristol contingent - omg! girl, if you knew how old I was, you wouldn't be rubbing up against me I tell you, lol!!!
It's a good job I'm taken as well because I can't usually resist a big bumpa and a smile haha. :D

A great night. The end of an era for me, but omg am I having second thoughts. f***.

Ramadanman - sorry I didn't find you. I was going to ask Deapoh to point you out, but then he seemed to disappear for good and that was the end of that! Bag is still available if you still want it.

Oh yeah... nearly forgot... I don't think it was such a good idea to stand right next to the speakers during "Bloodthirst" - the bass pressure was so heavy that I thought I was going to end up with hair like Benga's! :D

I *thought* there were a few famous faces in there last night! I used to go to a brilliant night he used to do at Bar Rhumba years ago. Might be still going for all I know...

"Hold tight Benga big hands!" DIY Rewinds seem to be the new trend these days.

The negatives first: I'm not a bass purist. Thus, when you've had four hours of nothing but bass (Chef, Pinch, Loefah and Mala), you tend to get bored out of your wits. The mixing left a lot to be desired as well. Case in point: Skream, who towards the end blatantly was chucking tunes arbitrarily onto one deck, beatmatching for 30 seconds and then just pulling up the other when things went out of sync.
Finally, all you people missing your pills, do me a favor and fuck off. You're not at the right party to begin with, and I'm not a dealer just cos I'm sober and dancing my ass off/not dancing cos I don't like the music. I'm gonna press a shirt saying "No, I don't have any pills. Now fuck off." for Fabric at the end of the month. Something tells me it'll come in very handy.

For the positives, big up yourself Deapoh. Your set was nicely varied and contrasted throughout, just how I like it. Furthermore, the Bristol crew put the rest of the room completely to shame, with non-stop skankouts at the front. The levels are high, no doubt. Finally, big tunes abound at all bases. Skream - Losing Control (tie fighter samples, yeehaw!) and Pinch & Distance - Memory Loss did it for me the most this time around. And oh my days, Loefah - System still feels like getting hit in the chest with a sledgehammer.

A decent night all in all, but I think I still need to figure out which nights that I'm the most compatible with.
