Mr. Messer, wot industry you work in bruv ? I thought all the working class in Britain were un-employed and on state benefits by now ?
Cos if we're gonna have a "howlongisyadick" comp in a thread about classwar its gotta be a "my-job-is-'arder-than-yours" throwdaan
big up this thread anyway ... I didn't think people still thought the middle-class had to do
anything at all to recuperate a grass-roots cultural phenomenon
Alex, what makes you think dubstep, in particular, would be resiliant to the effects of the market-place ? if "the bourgeoisie" can turn Marx into mainstream (& acceptable) doctrine ...
flame on

who needs a revolution? what revolution? too much hype for nothing, get in the line. it will take years and years before dubstep is even recognizable outside the core.

Yes it is and yes it is.
...no it's not and no it's not
its more like global underground music and localised around this site, a few other blogs and a handful of promoters and producers worldwide...

maybe thats just what it looks like from your PC
there are a few small nights and some producers around the world, but for it to be global, i think you'd need to have more than one productive epicenter.
i.e techno is neither american or british or german, and has a true home everywhere with huge parties and big producers, so its global.
dubstep as a whole, no matter how far it reaches, is still localised
i have no doubt that in time, dubstep has the potential to be truly global.
id love that! imagine being able to go to sick dubstep nights allover the world

for it to be global it just needs active participants in regions outside of the epicentre...
...which it has
for me it's not so much being able to go to sick dubstep nights all over the world as meet and hangout with people all over the world who are into it and I'd rather do that outside of a club environment...
... BTW I get a great outlook from my PC
