If you absolutely HAVE to spend money and want a good investment, your best bet might be some classic hardware synths given that they won't lose their value too quickly. Splurge on a mac, logic and a midi controller and you wont see much back second-hand.

This has too be the most ignorant statement Ive ever heard...

Do we reallyneed too list the countless professional using FL again, or break it down feature by feature next too Cubase for you?

It doesnt matter what daw you use, and FL is one of the most powerful there is. DAWs will not dictate your sound, that is entirely up too you.

I don't want to speak out of turn but I'm pretty sure that was a joke based on the slang term for a gay person, 'fruit'...

Well, your first bet is going too be too purchase and LEARN A DAW... This is going to be a hugely extensive process, which you can do all on your PC, dont let them lie too you. FL is an excellent DAW to start on, as it is in the same class with Logic, Reaper, and Cubase in that it is a very traditional multi-track and sequencer layout, and the mixer routing is kinda like bieng in front of the hardware. But thats it. Thats all this is. Pick a DAW and start learning. You dont need hardware yet. You dont need any software aside from whats gonna come with your DAW. you need to pick one, and learn. Then after a year or two of reading and studying and experimenting, then worry about buying more shit. But we all started the same place.

Bottom line, pick a daw, stick with it, and read every fuckin manual, tutorial, article, ect. you can find relating too it.

FL Studio + time + music inside your head = good place to start

I love FL Studio, especially since it somehow runs on my laptop that only has 512mb ram :o It even ran on it when it only had 256mb of ram.

That being said I find it very powerful and should be able to do almost anything any other DAW can do

Yo dude just start with Fruity Loops its pretty solid and really easy to use, If you become unbelieveble excellent and world famous you can always switch to a more profesional system like Reason, or Ableton. I downloaded FL 7 and got plenty of dirty ass plugins man, its a good place to start, and you will be producing filthy stinkers in no time.
