I find my self time to time getting stuck in massive for a great amount of time. ( not saying its bad ) but randomly ill just get stuck on massive, sylenth, or Razor and just save presets till i get stuck or cant make anything new and ear popping! haha

My production cycle is (was) like this:
1) Sound Design/Experimenting Ideas.
2) Found something I like, start building the idea.
3) Mornings for Mixdowns, Nights for creativity works better for me.
4) Finish track, restart
So, I always Sound Design between tracks. Mind that this applies to Psy Trance which I used to produce long ago (stopped due to work n stuff), now I'm on stage 1 in Dubstep till I learn this

I remember wub saying at some stage he dedicates at least one day a week to sound design and sampling. I took the advice with wub being the zen master he is, and I've found that aspect of production got better fast.

And yes, at least one session a week is put aside for specifically sound design work. Other sessions may become sound design sessions inadvertently, but at least one is specifically allocated to it. Can never have enough sounds.
Consequently, as per an earlier post this week, I shall be incorporating the learning of Predator into these sessions for at least the next few weeks

i spent the whole of last year dedicated to sound design, pretty much everyday.
this year? trying to make full tunes and got worse at making melodies haha
