This is all I use really for EQ'ing.

Does the job and is nice and easy to use. Although I've never really looked at anything else really.

I'll be totally honest I can't get a grip on the subtleties of each eq. I tend to use the eq8 in ableton. So quick to get any type of eqing I want. I use the bootsyeq sometimes too. I don't do much analysis either I think it is too clinical a way to make music, need to use your ears ultimately anyway.

The analyzer is nice to have sometimes. Of course you're going to use your ears, but it is nice to be able to check, especially if your damn ears are deceiving you, which we both know happens on occasion. Slutty ears. One of the reasons that I like the sonalksis eq, it defaults to spectrogram off, so you can go about eq'ing as normal, but if something isn't working right, you can switch it on.

I think discerning the different sonic qualities of eq requires pretty good ears and pretty good monitoring.

I don't know if psp makes a demo for sQuad, but try it out and a/b with ableton's eq. I will bet that you like sQuad's sound. Read the short manual too, clue you into some of the features that make squad so good.

i recently started use voxengo glisseq and i like it alot although i will admit that now that i'm using it im relying on the spectrum analyzer more than i usually would. other than that i just use the default eqs in renoise or reason. but i also like bootsy eq and pushtec leftover lasagna.

analysis in EQ plugs just lets you work faster... if you're listening closely, you'll probably eventually figure out (for example) that something needs to be boosted at like 2.1khz and something needs to be cut at 3.2... if yr working with an analyser , you'll just find those sweet spots faster.

I'm always amazed when I hear people say they don't use studio monitors and mainly rely on signal analysis to do their mixes (think Breakage said this, for example.) Wanna learn how to do this and incorporate it into my mixdowns.

basically you use speakers you are familiar with, use that in conjunction with a spectral analyzer and reference tunes you want to mixdown like and you're golden

To use your own terminology, I think the sQuad bundle puts some hair on everything I run through it.
