Re: UK Hip Hop Appreciation
Very nice^
I have got to say lyrics in UK Hip-Hop Rap are usually much better and varied than in grime.

Re: UK Hip Hop Appreciation
Yeah, I listen to a lot of grime but I think I prefer Hip Hop because of the lyrics, grime is just usually the same 'I shagged ya wifey and shot ya gran' kinda stuff lolWhosZena? wrote:I have got to say lyrics in UK Hip-Hop Rap are usually much better and varied than in grime.
I'd much rather listen to the fucked up kinda hip hop, the stuff you can tell has been influenced loads by the Slim Shady LP.
This guy is from Bradford and he is pretty good.

some dope stuff in here,
I do like a lot of Grime more than UK Hip-Hop, though.
can't get as down with it for some reason.

Re: UK Hip Hop Appreciation
It's the beats that let it down... if you listen to people like Roots Manuva, they sound like the UK... not only the accents and lyrics, but the beats are as UK as they come and the whole sound goes OFF. But most UKHH beats tend to be throwaway attempts at that oldschool, backpacker thing... they end up making the whole genre feel really dowdy.
I'd love to see MCs like Klashnekoff working with people like The Bug...
