I use addictech.com quite a bit. They update regularly, and have a rather descent selection. Still there's just not enough quality mp3's or FLAC's out there, infact i probly find better tunes on this forum than out there.. also, here in the states theres not enoough dubstep in the record shops, so I'm kinda forced to by digitaly or wait for days and pay out of the ass for shipping to recive my plates from over seas.

I REALLY like the bleep player...

but I dont like the way everything is organized. When I first got into dubstep I was only buying mp3's and it took me more than a few trips to the site to learn what labels were dubstep, what artists, etc.

The thing I like about Beatport is that if Im going looking for say, breaks, I can go into a breaks section and look at whats the most popular, the newest, the subgenres, the artist and the label. I would prefer their site not be flash, but since the new upgrade to that site most of the minor probs have been fixed. There are still a few things that bother me about the site, but if Im shopping for a style I dont know as well on Beatport I can usually find some good stuff relatively quickly.

With Bleep it takes alot longer and I usually give up or go straight to the labels I know and because of that I never find much new stuff on bleep unless I hear it somewhere else.

I find Bleep much more pleasant to browse, but that's just me. I hate flash-sites, and therefore I hate Beatport :x

My God... Perfect Example..

No dub comes up North (LDN) really.. always South

I read on a thread posted that the BENGA - Crunked Up / Skunkip TP got put in a shop down south ( i forget where )

by the time i get down there.. hell, by the time i ring up to ask about it, copies are as good as gone.

Getting REALLY frustrated with this, as its not the 1st time this has happened.. and i can prolly guess it wont be the last.

I'm a vinyl junk, nothing beats the feeling of holding a record in your hands when it comes to music.

Got nothing against mp3's though, ive noticed that dubstep as well as it's crowd benefit from it big time. If it werent for 320 mp3's used in mixes i would've missed out on a lot of tunes till now...

for those of you that haven't found these already:

Soundbox :: Entry Point
excellent filthy bass from bristol. check the kind words from Deapoh, Wedge, Shrine of JuJu etc :wink:

Markomen :: Psychederelict Dubs
incredible debut from Markomen which has lead to offers of guest slots and label signings being thrown at him from every angle.

also, more to come from these two soon :D

so the general thing seems to be there is not enough mp3/wavs availible and most people would rather have wavs than mp3s!

the amount of TP's n Whites that dont even appear on sites is astonishing, so word of mouth gets its involvement.

FUK THAT!!!! I LIVE IN HAWAII AND I HAVE ALL THE VINYL DUBSTEP RELEASES I WANT!!! ITS CALLED REDEYE RECORDS, their my choice online shop of the moment. I am into sonic low perfection...vinyl is the only answer to that....sure i have 1,000's of digital tunes but i find in the end they just sit there in some alpha/numeric order lost on my hard drive, a bunch of ones and zeros. they aint living. i cant get to know their grooves. how they look. i easily bore of the latest file i mean song, great, something new and free at Pitchfork, right-click! Its desposable product at its finest.

i guess i am speaking from the perspective of someone who REALLY does not have money to spend on vinyl the way i used to anymore. and in my own defense, most of my paying gigs are for techno, so spending the money to ship dubstep vinyl and still being able keep up with techno is not an option.

that said, i can click a few times on beatport and have all the brand spankin new techno releases i want in a few minutes. drop em in serato and bring along a small bag of vinyl and i am good to go.

with dubstep, if i want to buy digital (which i do, specifically because i use ableton for any dubstep gigs), i miss out on most of the new stuff, and have to wait to get only a fraction of the tunes.

i just don't quite understand the holding out on the digital buyers when so many other genres have figured out that there is money (and a wider audience) in getting the fresh tunes to the those buyers. *shrug*

keep in mind you are talking neither to a vinyl purist nor an "underground" purist either. i like good music and i want people to hear good music all over. those are my motives...
