And Butterz is definitely a label to watch: the new Terror Danjah EP is an absolute must. Not to mention the fact that Wiley's 'Avalanche Music' has just dropped aswell (http://hedmuk.blogspot.com/2010/04/wile ... ttons.html).

I will have to have a butch, ive always prefered grime to bring energy to a set opposed to dubstep!

yeah esp if your playing to an audience coming from a rock &hiphop background. I swear 'shuuut yuh mout' will still blow up a room in my area and 'twissup vip' still leaves people nonplussed.

plastician wrote:I rode into this topic on my high horse..... hahaha big up for noticing I still play grime.

My sets are actually about 50/50 grime and dubstep right now due to a surge in good grime production and a dip in original dubstep production.

Listen to this weeks podcast, shit loads of good music from Rudekid, Silencer, G Tank, D Double E, P Money etc.
Wheres a link to this podcast plastician is talking about?

I still play plenty of Grime, djing for Macabre Unit and IMP Batch for a number of years, it was always close to me, bought so much vinyl in those days... Still rotate plenty in the bag, it's so good to mix with Dubstep too, gives youanother dimension..
must admit not too much of the newer stuff has caught my ear as of yet... but there is some good sh*t being made...

i've always maintained that guys like Joker, Starkey, Gemmy, Guido, (and alot of Untold's newish stuff) etc are making grime instrumentals influenced by dubstep. and that because "dubstep" labels are releasing them they've fallen under the "dubstep" umbrella. nothing wrong with that really though...

this, same as how dubstep is now trying to fall under the "future garage" label when dubstep was future garage the whole time
Or Joystep label?!
