Contemporary Drum and Bass:
selections from Signature Records, Revolve:R, Hospital, Project Fifty-One, Advanced, Commercial Suicide, Brand Nu... fave producers are Calibre, Amit, Digital, Calyx

Ragga Jungle:
selections from Press Up Records, Chopstick Dubplate, Mashit, Cause and Effect, Royal Crown, JungleX, Irie Way, Top Ranking, Soothsayer, Animal Breaks, Liondub, Ruffah Ras, Cook & Curry, Sweet Sensei, Dubwize, Murdatune, Sprengstoff, Zion's Gate... fave producers are Debaser, Rcola, Sumone, Jackie Murda, Dreaded Youths, U-Ome, Enduser... (I could go on for a long time here). one of my favorite sites is http://www.ragga-jungle.com

60's Jamaican music (specifically "Rock Steady" and "skinhead/mod reggae):
Delroy Wilson, Phillis Dillon, The Ethiopians, The Untouchables, The Maytals, Pat Kelly, Joe the Boss, The Paragons, Dandy Livingstone, Rudy Mills, The Skatalites, The Mighty Diamonds, The Upsetters, Jackie Mittoo (who is my absolute favorite), and many more.

90's "Post Rock":
Tortoise, Gastr del Sol, Smog, Lake of Dracula, Yo la Tengo, The Sea and Cake, Stereolab, Trans Am, Royal Trux, Palace, anything on the incredible Chicago based label Drag City Records.

I'm also into (macro-influential) classics like Eno, Bowie, Zeppelin, T.Rex, Nick Drake, Johnny Cash, Talking Heads, Arthur Russell...

If all music could be broken down (rhythmically) into three groups labeled "Bob Marley", "James Brown", and "Other" I'd be firmly in the Bob Marley camp, followed fairly closely by James brown, and anything "other" would probably be detested or ignored.

that's where I buy most of my music these days..been introduced to a lot f good music from them...

My main music interests outside of dubstep are hip-hop - classic late 80's/early 90's, anything by MF Doom (the Danger Doom is great), and some of the more experimental stuff like the Stacs of Stamina..

reggae..ska, rocksteady, roots, dub etc..recently saw Burning Spear at Hammersmith Palais who was awesome..the reissues have dried up a bit redently but pretty much anything Blood & Fire, Pressure sounds, Aurulus and SoulJazz have put out is pretty essential.

I also like a lot of afrobeat and african music, Fela Kuti, Tony Allen, the 2 Lagos comps on Honest Jons and the Afro Strut reissues..also like Kinng Sunny Ade, Salif Keita, Orchestra Baobab..

alos into alt country, new folk like Animal Collective, Devendra Banhart, Calexico (amazing live), Iron & Wine, CocoRosie, Akron/Family, Surfjan Stevens etc..

I listen to a fiar bit of electronica (dabrye, Prefuse73, Murcof, Boards of Canada etc)..various soul (60's/early 70's)..Tom waits..Bob Dylan..Syd Barrett..jazz..funk..some rock..blues..a bit of everything realy apart from house music which I detest.

urrrmmmm... well lets see. i come from metal / hardcore / rap i guess cos thats what i listened to in my teens.

nowadays i like a lot of good hardcore (punk) on the artsier side, bands like lightning bolt, black dice, q and not u, the locust - to name 4 out of a whole universe. There's too many bloody punk bands.

IMO kanye west has made the best rap albums in ages. Used to be really into all the anticon and def jux stuff but it got really long to be honest. Still a few really good records dropping in that scene though.

Breakcore / IDM is ok though its another dead scene pretty much. Innit?

Really love that Constrlation Records stuff as well. Anybody with me? Godspeed You Black Emperor are the best known band from that lot but theres so much more going on there. They drop an incredible record every two months or so...

oh yeah - bigup paw tracks! Animal Collective!!

Yeah man, I still listen to Kyuss regularly - heavy stuff! Also Melvins, and some Tool, tis all good.
Other than that, my record collection spans most major genres.

Don't have much Trance, Black/White Metal or Folk though.

Favourite random record at the moment: Oscar Peterson - My Favourite Instrument

As far as electronic music, I like old school (early 90s) hardcore, jungle, drum & bass, 2-step garage, and 4x4 garage. Then of course grime, dubstep, and breakstep.
I also like some hip-hop, reggae, and jazz too.
