Not tranna dis the US but, our scene makes me proud to be british! BIG UP POWAH AND THE DMZ MASSIVE!

so how's it going on knife crime island ya limey bastard?
so how was queuing and talking about the weather today?
so how's not trusting anybody else in the world ever working out for you??
did you enjoy your petrol station sandwich that you had before you ran home and watched gameshows all night??
so you're not a world superpower anymore huh???

You're in a decent area for Dubstep
Chicago is a decent stronghold... Phaded and company hold shit down.
Champaign (relatively near by) has a decent thing going
St Louis has weeklies and usually turns out a lot of dubstep at the raves/parties
That little pocket in the midwest is one of the stronger parts for dubstep stateside.

I used to live in Chicago, I think you're safe with dark tracks. Trust me, more heads into the dark stuff in Chicago than over here in LA...
I've seen pretty good response to the older, pioneering aggressive sounds... so maybe stick to those, (Kromestar, coki, skream) and mix it in with the dark stuff. Really, you should be playing what you want and how you are feeling for the night. Communicate with the audience... I think if you are true to yourself and your tune selection, the crowd would respond to you better.

if u gotta play bate tunes for a bate crowd just go on chemical records and look at the top sellers
and look at Circus Records
and look to Rusko
and look to the wobble-heads, Funtcase et al
and look to Joker, joy orbison
and if its for a thing where you wana get people dancin look to Garage cos you can mix that just as easy with dubstep, and girls tend to like it and dance to it
this isn't a shit stirrin post btw, but if you wana play dubstep to people who aint really heard it out before play them this cos this is the most newcomer friendly stuff
in fact the list some guy put up on the first page is pretty spot on

Yeah if your struggling to find the popular/hype/filth/chart remix stuff then you are obviously doing it wrong.
I struggle to stay away from this stuff and find the deeper vibes
edited for usefulness:
Circus records (as mentioned)
C&S
Numbernin 6
Koan Sound
