Yeah the sound was seriously good last year, always did think it was a pity they closed the doors to the main room at night when it was playing. It sounded really nice outside when they were setting up on the Thursday.

I'm wondering what the acoustics will be like this year because its in a fort?

I've been wondering more about whether they've structurally tested the place to be able to withstand the bass powah!

Well the Fort was built as a gun enplacement with two 24cm guns. I should think the noise and vibration from firing those was even more than all the bass speakers that we could fit into the place!

Lots of concerts/gigs/events take place at Fort Punta Christo without any problems, the guys who organise the Seasplash reggae festival around the bay nearer to Pula just held a concert called Double Trouble at the Fort yesterday, so I think everything will be alright.

Good point! I'd just assumed they found some random abandoned fort!

Abandoned, yes but not random, it was given to the people of Pula and they allow all sorts of events to take place there.

I was wrong about the number of guns they had, I found some geek fortress-spotting website http://www.fsgfort.com/DB/C083/30/Texxt.htm which says that Fort Punta Christo had "a tower fort at its core and became an artillery fort by the addition of two wings and the conversion of the tower into a huge gun pit. This one
Image

It had twin-turreted 28cm L/35 Krupp guns in 1891 and a further four 24cm BL guns were located here
Image

By 1907 a further two 28cm L/22 guns, two 24cm L/22 guns, two 15cm L/35 guns, four 9cm M/7 guns and four 9cm M/4 guns had been added and in 1940 there were four AA guns."

That's a lot of guns!

We're calling the Gun Pit, Noah's Ballroom where there will be music from 6pm 'til 6am. Apart from the Dungeon (the semi-circular room with the mushrooms) all of the other stages will be outside, so acoustics aren't going to be a problem, as long as you have enough bass-heavy speakers.........and we will have!

Was a bit of a decision to be made but ended up getting a boat 7 sin city ticket.
Sin City presents Skream, Hatcha, N-Type, Walsh, Chef, Crazy D, Viper, Mad B.

It's one ticket only eh not like one ticket per day or anything?

Boat 3: New Bohemia presents Noah's Ark - Broke'n'£nglish, Kidkanevil, Mungos Hifi & The Heatwave.

Boat 4: Subdub presents Iration Steppas, Exodus, Sammy Dread, Danman, Maki Banton.
