Re: Flying Lotus
LA was my favourite album for a long time... had it on repeat for months.
Re: Flying Lotus
Cant get enough of Flying Lotus at the moment!
just to let anyone know who hasn't noticed the 1983 EP and Whole Wide World feat. Pattie Blingh - Declaime & Flying Lotus are now back in stock on chemical records (haven't checked any other online sellers) these are two records i've been after for a long time but didn't want to pay £25.00 + for the 1983 EP

One of my best friends is actually the Gaslamp Killer's cousinhoney-d wrote:Flying lotus is amazing and he's helped to spark an amazing new influx of interesting hip hop into LA. The beat scene is amazing right now. Check out Samiyam, flyamsam, mono1poly, take, gaslamp killa, ras g, etc etc for some more awesome psychadelic shiznit.
But yeah, definitely a good list
Re: Flying Lotus
I have only give cosmogramma a couple of listens since getting it so LA is my favourite album from him at the moment, dunno if Cosmogramma will take over once I give it more listens, but LA has got to be one of my favourite albums! It flows so good! Robertaflack has gotta be his best tune too, along with Massage Situation.

I just feel like saying, Cosmogramma is the first album in what seems like way too long a time, that has the flow Id expect out of a piece of wax... he wrote that one for the listeners, edge to edge on the record... great lesson to producers, the whole fuck the dj's theyll make it work if they want to bad enough' moral...

Re: Flying Lotus
Having Cosmogramma on vinyl is fuckin sweet. Astral Plane is funny tho, i always picture him recording those scat vocals he's doing and start laughing my ass off

I found a way to get piece of mind for years and left the hell alone, turn a deaf ear to the cellular phone

Re: Flying Lotus
Cosmogramma on wax feels like you have an ancient native musical tome in your hands, the artwork is awesome, the sleeves are awesome, It's crazy how many musicians went into that album! I commend the saxophone and harpist, when that majestic harp comes in during the chaos of Clock Catcher, *mwah, magnifique. A Coltrane was on that album, pretty sure that's the saxophonist, damn good job. I didn't appreciate Recoiled until I heard it on wax.deadly habit wrote:cosmograma vinyl is such fun because he did the webcam bonus shit for it (and the inner sleeves look ill)-TraX- wrote:Having Cosmogramma on vinyl is fuckin sweet.
