Its a piss take,

You give someone a track cos A)You trust them but more importantly B) You like them as a friend.

How these ppl can take work by someone given to them by trust only to kick em in the nuts n put it on a P2P...

and head's on this forum complain about big tunes not being available? this is exactly why tunes should be held down as long as possible. give dj's you trust watermarked tunes. people sending out tunes to myspace, distro's, labels, bloggers, magazines and radio stations should be watermarking everything. do it like the mixtape dj's do in hip hop and on fm radio stations. put your name all over the tracks and put shouts outs on all the big drops in the tunes.

the name of the game is, reputation. if i had a penny for the stories i've heard about producers and labels in dubstep getting ripped off by people they've trusted...

fix up people. respect creativity. respect hard work.

The funny thing about this, is its almost like being in school and passing someones work off as your own. Its like the bloke who put the mp3 up is says "woo, arn't I clever coming out with the answer before anyone else".
Pure trainspottering 1 up man-ship in my oppinion with out any real appreciation or respect to the man who actually made the track in the first place.

Some people need to taka a good look at themselves and ask who am I really benefiting here by being such a wankface....

Minus the chinese and beers at FWD. You might owe me soon.

Back on topic. I've never shared anything i have been given up front. Even to a mate who doesn't dj or go online that much. It is the only true moral and virtue left in the world of music.

Not sure if MCPS will be able to help, but will give em a bell all the same. Fanks.

Agreed.

You can't control what people do with your music once it's left your hands, but you can control whom you sort out in the future.

I remember reading on another messageboard that one guy put a different "marker" (hard to spot) in each version of a tune he gave to his friends. That way he could work out who leaked it and who to trust in the future!

Paranoid, but it would work, and no confrontation necessary.

it could be as easy as doing 4 versions of a tune, and no one except you would be able to tell the difference. change a hi hat or a snare pad in a certain section. echo out a snare differently.
version 1 for myspace, 2 for radio, 3 for bloggers, 4 for everyone else.

you keep doing it,a nd sooner or later you can narrow down the playing field to the culprit.

let's not paint all bloggers with the same brush though. i'm always a bit reluctant to follow new blogs that are constantly trying to have exclusives about everything exclusive that they can get their exclusive seeking hands on. like a good pint, stick with the brand's you know.

if you're gonna post released tunes at least post them up at 64kbit or 96kbits mp3 for fuck sake. or thinking right outside the box, ask first. :!:
