Dubstep.fm runs on a very omplicated system involving routing servers n ll kinds of crazy shit, at least thats what I was told. However. I do believe they can send through system Stereo Mix.

I KNOW you can use stereo mix on Ustream...

And aon shoutcst.

Hi There,

I would have to agree with Dub Fiend; Ableton is the way to go. It gives you alot of options in terms of doing live mixing, FX, mash ups etc. Also if people such as Calvin Harris (I know he's not dubstep) gets bookings left right and centre using it, you know you can't be going wrong.

At Point Blank we run an online DJing course using Ableton which is tuning out to be one of our most popular courses. I think you should take a look at the curriculum for the course as it will give you more indication on what we teach and what Ableton can offer you as a budding DJ.

I do think if you ever think about taking the Ableton route, you seriously consider this course. The options Ableton can offer you is endless and it would take longer to grasp the fundamentals and the more advanced techniques/tips/tricks by youtube videos and asking forum members.

I really do think the way the industry is going that Ableton and other computer DJ packages is the way to go.
If you require any more infomation don't hesistate to PM me.

I wish you all the best with your DJing!

Something that hasn't been mentioned is getting turntables and a mixer and using control vinyl with the various software packages, serato, traktor, ms pinky, others I'm not thinking of. This is a more expensive route, but this will allow you to play your mp3's, while learning solid skills on real one twos :)

I've been going back and forth about this shit like a ping pong ball. I went so far as to buy a vci-100. Fortunately/unfortunately they're backorderd (cause everybody is buying them) so I haven't received mine yet. But I might just cancel it, get another deck, mixer, and a dvs system, and start with fundamentals. :4:

I'd go with Traktor Pro if I were you. It's pretty versatile in terms of letting you sync and concentrate on fx and multi deck mixing, or using DVS vinyls for traditional style, or a mix between the two.

have been reading the ni support forum for traktor, and it seems that traktor at the 1.2x level is still glitchy and buggy, and not really reliable to play out on. Reading that shit bothers me, because that was the direction I was going to go. Apparently 3.x was rock solid, comparatively, and is still recommended for pro gigging, but is no longer legitimately available.

I've heard reports like this yet I've never had a hiccup from it. I'd say give the demo a try on your computer with any other gear and see if things get along.
