Awesome sample, your initial wobbles have absolutely no power behind them and should be thickened up a lot more, second ones are a bit better.

A-List wrote: Wirez - MAN, i love it... you could easily cut it as a grime producer man. sick stuff... and as for Realise, hes decent, if hes just starting out (cant remember if you said that) then he has a big future in the grime industry... 1:50 (around that) onwards is SICK man.. good work.. i can pick no fault
Thanks a lot man, I was making Grime long before Dubstep so I'm glad I've kept my head about it :)

To confirm, Realise and me have been working together around 4 years and he has plenty of MCing experience, I agree I think he's wicked! I was just saying earlier that we're finally sorting out some decent business plans and getting things shuffling along :) :w:

You're a very naturally talented amateur in which case then, in my opinion! Big up mate :)

Basic A wrote:@Pain... the tune represents some really well though ideas, and you seem to have your synth work coming along very well man... The rhythm has alot of groove too.. my biggest critiue is that mixdown though man! The tune is squashed under a compressor/limiter and it shows... take anything you ahve on the master off, turn all your faders down to 25% volume, and then adjust again, trust me, itll be a banger once you do.

Like I said, musically, its well though out, but you have to get that mixdown right or itll never show... trust me, reduce your levels and work as quietly as you can, turn your speakers up too make up for it. Then, after you mix everything down so its as CLEAR sounding when you turn your speakers up as a professional tune is when you lower its volume to match yours, then save your tune, and turn its gain up... everything will be a world cleaner sounding!

Either way, keep up the good work man, like I said, musically, its really solid, you gotta work on your engineering though!
Thanks, I'll give the mix down another go. I had a multiband compressor on the final at the end, maybe I'll try something else this time.

If you get your mix right, you should probably be able to just turn the gain up on the mix and leave that stuff to the mastering engineers :wink:

Cool, I'll try that this time.

As for this brostep, I've never heard of such a thing. I still have a lot to learn.

First tune. Made while learning to use Ableton Live 8. This track went through many different versions as I learned new things but this is as close to sounding as it did in my head as I'm going to get it, I think.

Any comments or advice would be great.

@ basic a - sorry man, i was writing up feedback when you posted your track, and didnt realise you posted until now! anyway, onto feedback... whilst listening, a massive bang happened in my house, so i got kinda freaked, listening to your intro and a big bang didnt go down nicely on my heart... lets start at the intro, i really like the pad type sounds you got going, and the feel of the intro is really really dark, suprisingly i like it alot... onto the drop.. im a big fan of empty drops, so this went down well with me!. The main part is really nice aswell,, i like the kick drum, nice and deep!. everything sits well together, like a jigsaw. i think thats the emptiest breakdown ive heard, but it fits so well with the song!

all in all.. i dig it man! im not really into the darker more atmospheric side, but this really suprised me.

@djwhupass

It's awesome... Especially for a first tune... The vocal samples are great but the wobbles sound a bit amateur-ish...
