i'd imagine its dam near impossible for em to actually get together and finish tunes. Each touring/playing/making there own tunes constantly. We'll see if they can come together and produce like we know they can.

TBH, I Need Air is my least favorite Magnetic Man track of the moment, and I still like it for what it is... Some of that other stuff hits HARD tho!
Re: Magnetic Man Guardian review
I wasn't a big fan of I need air and I'm not looking forward to the album but that review was a piece of shit. It just looked like he was taking the piss out of it for the sake of it.

He went into the article with a negative view and did everything he could to down talk it.

Read another one of his reviews, looks like this is the guys approach and that he hasn't got a clue.
Re: Magnetic Man Guardian review
guess this guy hasnt seen the live show. finally saw magnetic man at parklife after going all the way to germany last summer to see them to have the rain fuck everything up. was literally blown away. didnt even know the majority of the tracks they played and felt every single one like i knew em already.
pretty excited for this album.

Re: Magnetic Man Guardian review
yeah the review wasnt that great, but tbh the stuff ive heard i dont think is that great, if the reviewer dont like it then why would he write something positive about it? and anyway, thats what the Guardian does, not worth gettin pissed off with them, they write in that style to get reactions like that, unlike armchair critics and internet heroes who debate for what seems like weeks of their lives about why 'going more commercial isn't that bad', he got to the point, for the purposes of his review the hype surrounding the artist in question was excessive considering the strength of the material. get over it.nicenice wrote:I wasn't a big fan of I need air and I'm not looking forward to the album but that review was a piece of shit. What an harsh uncalled for review, felt gutted for Magnetic Man when reading it!
If this Paul fella didn't like the album imo he shouldn't of reviewed it.

im out of the loop, havent heard anything.
anyone who is influenced by guardian music journalism needs to have a long hard think about their own shortcomings.

Lol! Yeah I see your point! It wasn't the fact that he didn't like the album, it was more the sniddy digs which I think was uncalled for.
He is of course entitled to his own opinions, but he could of gone about it a lot better imo, instead of making his self look like a dick head!

for a super group magnetic Man fail to deliver , most of the tracks i have checked out sound like they were made by some kid in his bed room on fruityloops
Re: Magnetic Man Guardian review
I heard "I Need Air" in the car without realizing who it was, and I'll be honest - I liked it. It certainly was better than whatever tracks played before & after it... so it stood out in a good way.
I also don't see why writing something that could be categorized as Pop, is automatically a bad thing. Perhaps because there is so much rubbish being played in the charts these days, but I am old enough to remember when there regularly was good music on daytime radio.
