To reduce the drain onto the servers, we’ll have to temporarily remove the following two features:
* display of weekly stats in the Mini update on the Dashboard
* display of referrers and sources in the stats overview (for Pro and Pro Plus users)

Its either we buy accounts or the site gets swamped with ads, what would you prefer? I'm probably gunna upgrade when I get paid next.
They're a good team who don't seem to be in it for the money and probably didn't realise how much the site would take off, any of the old school heads will remember the soundcloud team coming here and giving us full beta accounts and upgrading us to pro for 6 months when it fully went live because we was beta testers and they enjoyed our community and appreciated the support we gave them during the beta phases.
Out to soundcloud I think they're just trying to keep the service running as smoothly as possible they're not in it to make loads of chedder.

This, you don't want it ending up like youtube with popup annotations on the players, people listening to your track and they are trying to sell the listener ministry of sounds dubstep compilation cd's or google ads all over the show.

+1
I think soundcloud is very reasonable, just bought myself their cheapest premium account the other day and it definitely doesn't feel like i've been ripped off.

I hope one of the SC team sees this because i think although they do have downtime more often than most, its never a long time until it gets fixed and i think as legendary said, they are doing a stella job!

You can link your visa electron to a paypal account, so paypal take it straight outta your account when you buy something online, it takes about 3 days to sort out...

I havent paid for my account yet, but still feel fully entitled to moan.
Every single move i make on SC i get 'oops, something went wrong'. Been like that for the entire last 12 months.
They do seem like nice chaps, and have insisted all the bugs have been ironed out, but clearly they havent.
I'll pay for my account as soon as its running smoothly

The cloud is awesome, will definitely upgrade to the cheapest pay account when I've got some tunes to put up. Love lurking about there, so much amazing music.
