Promo work has not started. These releases are not for anytime soon. Good few months away. First going to put together a list of artists and tracks to sign up and then the promo work will start up hard.

Basic A pm'd me something similar and I hammered the shit into him with the business's entire plan!

For now, I need a decent amount signed before I market!
Could you please also when me the business model you have created, i would like to know as well. It's all good and well have some tunes signed but i would require the full details and future plans and where you're aiming, your market, what clients, list of contacts ect.
mate has he even expressed interest in your tunes?

It's just generally the way things are done, people put a lot of hard work and time into their tunes and they don't want to give them out to labels unless they know they are going to be in safe hands. Maybe if someone's never had a release before they might not care so much and just be happy that someone wants to sign them and hand 'em over to anyone but for people who have various things out and know they can get releases through other labels they know more about they arn't gonna want to send tunes over to somebody who refuses to reveal basic information about their label.

Not trying to cause beef with the OP just trying to explain why people keep asking these questions, I don't think I've ever seen a label advertise on here without putting that kind of information up in their first post actually.

Personally I wouldn't send anything to a label without knowing exactly how they went about mastering, promo, whether releases were for vinyl or just digital, whether they had secured distribution with juno, beatport, digital tunes, itunes etc etc

Not trying to cause beef with the OP just trying to explain why people keep asking these questions, I don't think I've ever seen a label advertise on here without putting that kind of information up in their first post actually.

Fair enough.

I have an entire processed structure as to how everything works from when the music is signed to after it is released.

I do not want people to send me 320's

Preferably stuff on SoundCloud so I can have a listen.

If I like it, I then let the artist know every single detail concerning the release and I'd rather keep that private between the artist and myself and this obviously varies from artist to artist.

Well obviously I'm going to thank you! You took care of an expense that most labels have to put under their expenditure! Wahey!

There's obviously been some sort of misperception. However, paravrais kindly summed it up for me, and saved me writing a long post.

As a label, i like to see what the label is all about, what kind of sound they are after, what kind of artist, their aim's and goal's, and most importantly, are they going to represent their artist. All this should be given freely available to any one who would like to know. Additionally, there seems to be no list of distributor? iTunes, beatpotal ect... By you saying "amibent" music is very vague, it could mean anything...?

When i read this thread, there was not clear indication on those elements... as well for the website. Hence, the request for further information. There was not aim to try undermine your knowledge of this business, i simply asked to find out more. Other information such as, cut, PR's (if any) ect ect should be given after you are happy to sign that artist.

Normally, many label threads found on DSF have a sentence or paragraph stating their intentions. It has not became a common norm here. So, i can't see by me asking for further information to impose any problem or any sort to you.

Do you see where am coming from now?

BTW, Lethargik i don't seem how you were helping in any form, you just tried to aggravate it.

Don't worry paravrais, no beef was caused :)

However, i think i can trust Basic A judgement when he say's your a legit label :) Trustworthy DSF member, with good knowledge.

Okay man, I don't mean to get wires crossed.

I just usually keep all of what you have said above to me talked about in private. The contract is 7 pages long full of all the terms and conditions and I also talk in depth through message about what the artists needs are.

I just prefer to hear the music first and if I'm interested I'll delve into everything in detail. And different artists have different requirements with where there music goes, when it is released, best forms of promotions etc etc

Oh and I said ambient music exactly because I am looking for music which is beautiful in itself and does not have to be strictly confined to a specific genre. The website - I agree. It's shit. I'm just shit at putting it together and stuff.

On a brighter not, 5 Fully signed up! Looking for a couple more!

No problem, i understand, i just wanted to clear it up, and make sure am not sending my music to a "mickey mouse" label. You have to be careful these days. Thanks for the information.

Never said the site was shit, it's about substance, not style. Just requires more context.

I shall send you something some time tomorrow.

What method would you like the receive the songs? Upload to a fileshare and then PM you the link? Plus, how many songs would you like to listen to ? Generally it's 2/3 with most labels, but i make quite progressive music, so if i send you a zip with 4 songs, it may take up 30mins to listen to them... Do you have that share? Or are you just taking 2 songs?

Let me know, then i will go from there.

Sorry if i aggravated you, but i was trying to put your interrogating into context..... fair enough he might have been one of those labels that pop up once a month which don't bother proof reading their posts and don't have any info about them selves what so ever.

However i find it pretty absurd that you would demand a companies business model over a forum when he hasn't even said he may like to sign your tunes.... what honestly gives you the right to do that? You would never dream of asking for details about who they're gonna promote tunes to, what clients they have to a label like hotflush, hyperdub etc even before you've sent them a tune!

then again this guys is asking for tunes on DSF so maybe im giving him too much rep :-p although im sure he's alrite, he's given off a pretty professional air with all his replies so far.
