Yeah i read that thread. It was just an innocent guy asking for help on whether he shuld book Doctor P or Flux for an event. People then decided to be pretencious and not give good advice....

It should be the only reason.

Then if other people like it too, trust.
The only reason? what is the point of that
exploration should never need a reason

I posted in 3 threads that got deleted. The one in question on here, another one a month back about Excision and the Mt Eden on DMZ thread.

What kind of a topic is that?

Should I book someone? Come on guys, we're all grown ups here (or atleast I always figured that). 5 years ago questions like that weren't asked.
Technology is an asset not a lifeline.
Blatantly deleting threads is rude but certainly topics like that getting locked get's my OK.

So yeah, more locks : I'm all for it, deleting threads is a bit rude.

What?

I meant, you should write music for yourself and nobody else.

If you're making music you don't like. You are a tool.

well then everyone starts off as a tool or still is a tool, unless you want to argue that all artists have a hugh ego about there work
i actually hate some of my most popular tracks, i had fun making them but cant stand them atm
a large amount of them were explorations into possible sounds i can create and trying to stay unique

you have a point but it isnt the only reason and sometimes its not the largest reason either

So you think that everyone who starts off makes music they don't like? :? That's retarded, if I load up a drum beat and I don't like it, I aint gonna use that in a tune am I? Same for any other part of a song, so I don't see what your getting at there.

I think we are two completely different wave lengths ha.

Obviously you wanna make completely new sounds and try new ways of making music, but I don't see why anybody would make music they didn't like personally. Unless they were doing it for the money, And if they were making music they hated solely for the money then they shouldn't of made it in the first place, d'ya get me?

If I don't like my music, I scrap it. Because if I'm not pleasing myself then I doubt I'm gonna please anyone else.

World is running low on tissues due to wanking threads and crying threads on this forum.

DSF all about saving the trees, one tissue at a time

No I am saying that it isn't always the priority especially when you first start and physically cannot recognize the difference in quality because you are not accustomed to it (its a phenomenon that someone else mentioned on this forum, great post)

I agree, this is sums up to forum misunderstanding imo

money is one reason (but for very few)
the other is just to improve and just because you enjoy producing and want to spit stuff out (not that you should show people these works unless someone really pried)
When i started producing when i was 11 i did it on my own without showing anyone for at least 3-4 years, they were all just shitty experimental tunes but I was having a blast making them and that is what matters.
