that will never happen though
it's hollywood
it'll be neo new york
tetsuo will be a blue eyed white boy named josh or something
and kaneda will be the same just named blake or something

Ichi the Killer is pretty good.

if they have takashi miike direct this i'm all about it
haha would never happen
miike ain't exactly hollywood or mainstream friendly
hell even his episode of masters of horror which wss on cable tv was banned before air
This episode was originally going to be shown on Showtime in January 2006, but the station banned it shortly before the broadcast. It debuted in America on DVD on September 26, 2006.

he's pretty mainstream in japan i reckon.... well, maybe not mainstream, but definitely popular
his gangster movies are just as good as his horror movies... audition may be the best tho,,, idk
mainstream in japan or foreign market means shit to hollywood
otherwise they'd do another restoration and clean up of the original anime and give it a theater re-release instead of a live action hollywood crapfest
same goes for all the other remakes of big foreign flicks
Fuck the remakes. I mean most people who will go see the films probably don't know about the originals. So instead of stealing from films why don't they just adapt a load of books if they're stuck for ideas. At least then they're rehashing something from a different medium not doing the same thing again but badly. I don't get it. Why does making a god awful version of another film seem acceptable to people. If I just recorded a shitty version of a Black Sabbath album with my mates everyone would wonder what the fuck I was doing.

hit the nail on the head
then again i don't think most hollywood writers for major studios are avid readers besides the ny times best seller list
give me some fresh lovecraftian and atmospheric horror movies not these torture/gore, foreign remakes and butchering of 70s-80s slashers hollywood
hell how long till the new reanimator and leslie vernon movies?
deadly habit wrote:i can't think of one good anime/manga to live action adaptation, not saying there aren't any, just nothing coming to mind
to be fair death note wasnt that bad special effects wise i expected them to be aweful
This. Though I haven't seen it, I can't imagine the live action Cromartie High School movie being anything less than hilarious. Here's hoping WETA and Cameron don't royally fuck up Evangelion and Battle Angel Alita respectively.
