For some reason I don't think I'd get the response I'm lookin for. Those big dogs don't like to give their secrets up. Fuck it, I'll figure it out eventually.

putting people on pedestals is one of the biggest impedances you can put on yourself and building up a network of contacts

Hey guys, I'm stoked your diggin my sound design as that's what I focus on most as a producer. For the sound in question I think it was a pretty simple process. I think it was just a square wave on osc 1 with the amp all the way up. On osc2 I had a touch of of one of the digital waveforms like a quarter of the way up or something, and maybe an octave higher I can't remember. It's all going through the scream filter with a generous amount of "scream" and resonance. There is also a healthy amount of classic tube distortion on it. A bit of widening on the pan position, a bit of camelphat, a bit of Downlink's special 2 day steak marinade, and voila! If you still can't figure it out I will open the project up and check it out, but from what I remember that's about it. The key is really the "scream" and resonance settings. They are very dependent on eachother and very small changes do a lot. With a bit of time tweaking you can usually find the sweet spot. Also, I used envelopes and separate midi notes for this track rather than lfo's with different rates. Hope this helps. :)

No Idea,
but if its of any use I think the stuff at the start samples Phillip Glass' score/themes from Battlestar Gallactica (i cant remember the name, think its called something like 'in the temple').
