Snuff and real life torture/harsh violence makes me feel terrible and I won't watch it. Won't watch it just out of principle anyway

In terms of movies though. Biggest gorehound possible.

I think it's sick, and by watching it you're making it worth their while. :u:

I have zero inclination to watch snuff films or anything like that video with the 3 russian lads but based on empirical evidence gore threads on 4chan (or the 'extreme' section of 4gifs, or any one of hundreds of other similar sites) spark a morbid curiosity in a lot of people.

I only skim read this thread, there seemed to be a lot of opinion masquerading as fact, but in my opinion to label people like crackf (and myself, I make no bones about it) as part of the problem does little but trivialise a distinct untrivial issue.

'Promise me you're not ripping me off,' says the Italian.

'Relax, I can assure you this one really dies,' the Russian responds.

'The last time I paid and I didn't get what I wanted.'

'What do you want?'

'To see them die.'

hmm, saddening article

i would never in my life want to watch a child get raped/tortured/killed

perhaps the question is why not? when i would still watch a video of an adult being killed, why do i feel i should draw a line there

some would maybe say because when childeren are involved it becomes more illegal, but thats the last thing i think of, i feel uncomfortable enough as it is seeing a grown adult dying.

tough subject, but i like hearing other peoples views on it nevertheless

Used to be into freaking myself and watching the most disgusting and horrific things I could find but I am getting soft in my old age...

EDIT: That article is fairly brutal but I wouldn't go out my way to order myself some of these movies, if I stumbled across something and I was in the mood to get freaked out... whether it was scat or snuff, it wouldn't matter...it's all for the lols.

I can't understand 'wanting to get freaked out' as meaning you'd want to see someone get really hurt/torture/killed, I think there's a line a long way before that, between curiosity and being a bit fucked.

i suppose, but then what would there be to be curious about if you draw the line way before watching a video like that?

as i said, i dont persue these videos, but if one was presented to me the urge stands

with the whole being likened to the people who do things like that, its similar, to finding a ten pound note on the floor, its not yours to take but most people would anyway,
doesnt mean that you will then start going out and robbing people for ten pound notes

To be perfectly honest, I'm a bit of a misanthropist and my general attitude to humanity as a whole isn't the best and getting weirded out by these sick videos only seems to confirm how I feel, maybe I do it for self assurance in that we are an awful species and there is awful people. Don't worry, I then put on some Digital Mystikz or watch a Disney film and it's alright.

I understand you. This thread has made me watch beheading videos, cheers. -e-

I don't really follow that. You might naturally be curious about the most mundane things. Just to clarify I think there's a huge difference between these videos/images where

a) everyone is willing / it's an existing record of an accident (like a random picture of a gory car crash or something)

and

b) where innocent/unwilling people are the subject.

I'm not condoning 'a' in the slightest, and I've never really seen these videos so don't know what I'm talking about, but enjoying stuff in the 'b' category is a sign of something wrong in a person in my view.

note I'm not trying to sound so dramatic

There is a fine line between both enjoyment and shock factor.

I don't necessarily enjoy horror films but that sensation of being freaked out, feeling sick and/or horrified drives people to watch some weird stuff. I wouldn't pay for it, nor would I go out of my way to watch it purposely for a whole night...but I think if this information is there, it needs to be seen to show people the true horrors of the world they actually live in.

It's reality and humanity both at its lowest and it has opened my eyes.

Fair point. I definitely think it's ignorant to say everyone who watches these videos is part of the problem, but I would suggest a huge percentage are. People have their reasons and I know that I'm very uneasy even hearing these stories so wouldn't go near them. In my opinion it's already a problem if people are enjoying them, it's not just a case of "will they go out and replicate it?" which is obviously the worst scenario.

Again, it's the fine line between the person watching finding it informative or desensitising.

First statement, making light of the situation! :D:

Second statement, truth. :D:

As for blahblahjah statement, me and my family are currently facing death right now, I won't go into details but well, it's not nice in the slightest but that isn't the perversion of humanity, that's just life. Not really the same thing we are talking about here is it?
