I'd give some tape sims a whirl if you've not already.

Time stretch. Save. Shrink back to normal size. Rinse repeat.
Re: Sound Destruction / Creation Vst's
Reaktor as efx unit... Start from scratch (rtm first obviously) and stupid things youre not supposed to.

My favorite production technique!rawali wrote:stupid things youre not supposed to.
Yeah, I'm into this. Thing is, the pitch/time stretch algos are so good nowadays, you have to be more extreme in your stretching.briskisgoodforu wrote:Time stretch. Save. Shrink back to normal size. Rinse repeat.
Have any suggestions? I've idly tried a few sims, was not too impressed. I finally have a working vcr, so we'll see about that. Have a line on a reel to reel. Might be able to trade for a couple of bass traps...jikay wrote:I'd give some tape sims a whirl if you've not already.

The UAD is IMHO the best on the market at the moment; you'll obviously need the hardware though...nowaysj wrote:Have any suggestions? I've idly tried a few sims, was not too impressed. and a daw that can effectively delay compensate...

Man knows you can't get this sound with software yet.upstateface wrote:Akai sampler and various guitar pedals dude.
2 keyboards 1 computer

Yeah bro, I feel you on that one. I've just gone psychotic on the hardware. I suddenly have so much gear! The sp 404sx is fantastic for the kind of sound manipulation I am seeking. Afraid I'm going to have to sell that bad boy to fund some of the fore mentioned psychosis. Really puzzles me that I can't find vst's as good as the sx's cheap digital fx. If you were a hifi dood, you'd crap your pants at how bad those fx are. I love them. Gonna check out those traktor dj fx. I bet they're pretty budget sounding too.upstateface wrote:Akai sampler and various guitar pedals dude.

Re: Sound Destruction / Creation Vst's
Yeah boi! I'm likely going to be adding some dedicated hardware fx soon. Right now just using the sp's fx, asrx's fx, and virus's fx.
As I'm setting up all this hardware, everytime I'm like, yeah you could do this in software, it would be 10x as easy, compact, likely cleaner sounding... and I'm like wtf am I doing, just use the software... but than I'm like, naw bro, I just want to touch it.

I once grabbed a gagillion of his plugs. Can't recall if it was from gersic or not. Will check tomorrow. Maybe post in this thread to remind me to check?
Love these plugs, but these are resampling type plugs, not something you'd leave on a channel, unless you mad!

Perky you can just about get away with leaving on something at the lower settings, but Dual Thrashers and the like would be ridiculous.
Re: Anyone got Jack Dark's Nuclear Cranium VST?

and yea resampling for win , altho roboticize can be left on its own over drumtracks (with varying dr/wet setting ofc)...
