nah mate i have nothing against the name used cleverly as part of a name/night etc when referencing dubstep, its more the context of just on its own
eg. "been listening to doctor p, can anyone recommend some more dub like this" - makes no sense whatsoever

But everyone knows exactly what they are talking about so why is there such a big issue about it?

I can understand why peeps get annoyed by it. I still call it dub every now and then. But thats purely cos im too lazy to say step at the end.

needs correcting or they will just carry on doing it. because slowly people are actually thinking dub is dubstep. and with the recent popularity of dubstep, soon a huge section of society are going to be calling it dub, not knowing it actually isnt. dub is one of the most influential musical genres there is, and to use the term like that is to be honest disrectful to those pioneering artists.

Agreeing with HRKRT on this one, dub is far too important a music genre, to be massed in with dubstep. Only a few letters can make all the difference, if you get flu its not so bad, if you get swine flu, you might die.

No, because it creates confusion because you have idiots that don't know what they're talking about act as if they know what they are talking about. Would you do the same thing for any other genre simply because the names sound similar? Probably not.

Myspace should read this so they can add a Dubstep so we dont have to painfully click on Dub. Or have they changed this now as i havnt used it in a while.
