How Did You Get Started?

I think making the time to experiment and read A LOT about the art you are learning is the best course for anyone to take.I'm pretty much self taught apart from a few things a friend who done music tech taught me.I have often hit times where the lack of experience with techniques has affected my creative flow,for example there would be something that i knew my track lacked but absolutely no idea how to put it right but i plugged away till i learned the techniques i needed too.so in my opinion it is down to the individual to learn be it from the internet(which believe me is possible)or enrolling in a music tech course.There is so many options to start to learn from and in time everyone will become comfortable with any path in production you take,it really is just looking yourself rather than letting people make your mind up for you then practice practice practice practice and most importantly patience.

I got into dubstep about a year and a half ago (latecomer) with the likes of Rusko and that was it, I liked it but it kinda scared me. Anyway about 8 months ish ago I redescovered dubstep but properly. Stenchman actually made me want to make my own stuff, and that's when I decided to start, with no training, through some shitty monitors and solely in Reason (which I'd never used before cus I use Logic/Garageband for my guitar stuff). SO I've been producing for about 3/4 months now. Getting better with every day though
