Left 4 Dead is awesome, all of the sounds are done by Mike Patton and they are all in .wav format, WIN!

I've gotten the samples out of fallout 3. New Vegas and the original both have easy access after you dowload this tool someone made to extract the samples.

There are some sick drones / soundscapes and cool dialogues in those, i tell you!

Vampire the Masquerade had some awesome sound folders for the game editor, loads of room ambiences, SFX, character sounds etc.

Dead Space is def up there in sound design terms, awesome.

For me Silent Hill 2 for sound - WOW, never played a game with so many scares purely from sound.

I got the portal samples off some site and I have TF2 on my PC so I got all the samples in the sounds file. I'm just in a break between classes right now, but I'll try to up them today or tomorrow.

thanx to all the people upping sounds here. :4:

i'm gonna rip my age of empires 2 CD with itunes today, i remember when i was a kid i tried to burn it for a buddy and all he got was the audio :D
i think i heard some AOE2 sounds in King Cannibal's tracks.

the half life 2 sounds are absolutely essential, all of it is useful in some way or another.

i also installed swat 4 again recently (best co-op tactical shooter IMO, the AI teammates suck tho) and all the dialogue is directly accessible as .ogg files. if anyone wants them i can up them too, the important sounds (for example the countless variations on "DROP YOUR GUN!" or "DOWN ON THE FLOOR!" as well as gunshots) are compressed into ".uax"-files though.
anyone's got any ideas on how to rip those? :?

my fave pack and dedicated sampling guy was ishubini (prolly messed that up spelling) from doa who had an epic collection up online that some crazy bitch got in his head and he deleted it
had mad game samples
one of my faves was the call of cthulhu: dark corners of the earth pack
machinarium has a sick score and sounds to it

This, works for loads of ps1 games..!

Also, get roms of snes/genesis games, loads of them have a "sound test" option.
