Notice they're not distributing this one via the 'voluntary payment' scheme they had for the last one. Reckon Thom has learnt his lesson from the back that the general public are by & large a bunch of pikies when it comes to getting stuff for free vs. paying for it.

Hope it's up there with Bends - Amnesiac era Radiohead. If it's not, I don't care. 'In Rainbows' was snooze inducing. So unmemorable.

They didn't make a loss on IR. They came away with money in the bank according to Nigel Godrich and XL records.

I Don't know why people seem to think Thom Yorke is the only member of the band and makes all the decisions, far from it.

Each to their own and all that, but I struggle to get my head round those words

In Rainbows blew me away on first listen and the same again on last listen

Can't wait for the new gear!

More hyped about Mogwai's release last week, sort of eclipsed this for me.

Fair comment, he's the only one of them I can name off the top of my head.

to be fair, they're better than most bands
To me, they're like Pink Floyd; a lot of talent, but too much wankery for me to enjoy listening to them.

Kid A, In Rainbows and Amnesiac are the best imo. Not sure on the order what order though.

I haven't listened to all of In Rainbows yet, but what I've heard from it isn't their best. My rankings:

1. Hail To The Thief
2. Amnesiac
3. The Eraser (Thom Yorke's solo album)
4. Kid A/ OK Computer (tie)
5. The Bends

Also, the Burial and Bug remixes on the Eraser remix album are amazing.

^think i prefer the originals of both 2bh, though those are pretty sick remixes... modeselektor's rmx of skip divided is fucking awesome as well

don't understand how people think their music is self indulgent. they know how to hype a crowd and have always been devoted to the fans.
Agree with firky on the johnny > thom situation though. hes an effing genius.
