Fully agree. Same reason progressive and different stuff like Night Slugs, James Blake, Ramadanman and Mount Kimbie is so poorly regarded round here.

Blake is getting a lot of attention. It's only a matter of time till people here disregard him as genre-riding "mainstream waste" or what have you.

Very true. This forum introduced me to a lot of new and exciting stuff and influenced me for the better what music i buy today.

In a way it does make it even worse if your going to mention it and retweet just as malicious hate all over twitter. Perhaps they need to remember that a lot of us on the dsf are the ones buying the 12" and not just downloading the mp3s straight off mediafire for nothing.. Isn't this where a lot of fans of the scene voice their opinions anyway? Must count for something!

This has nothing to do with skream and benga's set..just the reaction on twitter was very surprising.

It's funny, I actually searched I_Skream into twitter search and it was 90% tweets defending him and calling out those criticizing.

Big deal out of nothing tbh, it's such a small minority I'm amazed the big names have let it effect him so much.

I had a look at Twitter on my phone waiting for Brixton tube to open this morning. At that point, there were just a couple of tweets telling Skream he should be ashamed and that Joe Nice should never speak to him again. That was when he replied, and it's all kicked off from there. So about two comments have brought about the whole thing, as far as I can tell.

Thing about Twitter is, if you've got the status, 90% of any comments to you will be defending you. Skream could come out and say 'Just murdered a few beloved family pets for a laugh' and there'd be a wave of 'Fucking love it. Pets are waste. Big up bruv!' comments. Same for anyone with any sort of public profile. People want validation from them.

Calling out a forum which represents the music you make, as well as being partly responsible for getting you where you are isn't a good look really. Responding to the criticism like that isn't particularly mature either, some producers seem to think they are un-touchable.

On the other hand people hating so passionately is lols. Been said a million times but listen to what you like and ignore what you don't.

Don't let fame get to you.... Just because they've sold a few records doesn't mean i have to give a shit what they have to say...

as far as im concerned, they're just assholes complaining on the internet too. we're all just punters when it comes down to it. i would tell Skream to his face that was a wack set. I just don't have this inferiority complex when it comes to famous musicians
