Makes be laugh how people are going nuts to get this pre-ordered without even hearing any audio, its ridicoulous

Too many people in this scene buying tunes just to say they own it (or worse sell on). I get bored of the hype, you should judge music by listening to it, not whos name is on the sleeve

Im pretty sure if Burial put a 10 minute drone out on wax it would still sell out within minutes, madness

I seriously would never buy a plate without knowing how it sounds. There is just 1 exception, and that is Burial.
I have listened to every single one of his tunes easily over a hundred times and I just love it. I don't need to have audio clips to find out wether I'll like a Burial tune or not. I know I will.

@slanguage
No sour grapes as i would never buy a tune without hearing it, don't understand the rational behind it, i dont even like buying something iv only bieng able to hear on a computer, need to know what it sounds like on a nice system (therefore hearing it out on a night or having a listen in the record shop)

@vishes
Fair play if your that confident about burials output but still think its a bit of a risk as theres no gaurentee what an artisits new tune is gonna sound like. i bet alot of the old dnb heads can relate to this with bad company tunes, thier output was solid with big tune after big tune but towards the end the standard defineitly dipped, i suppose your gonna keep your view though until bural releases a tune your not feeling

I still reckon your gonna see alot of these on discogs within the next couple of weeks, watch this space....

I understand what you're saying, and I do agree with you, I would never buy a tune without having heard it before either. But as I said, Burial is the one and only exception for me.
It's also different in this case, Burial isn't the kind of producer that bangs out tune after tune, he's the kind of producer that takes his work seriously (so is Four Tet btw) and therefore I think that we can be pretty sure that this will be, once again, a superb release.
I've also been waiting for new material by him for soo long, and now that there is finally something new getting released, I just need to have it.
And not because it's 'super exclusive' or because everyone wants it, no, I want it because Burial's music means alot to me. More than any other music, and I mean that.

But yes, I understand what you're coming from, and I'm sure there will be enough of these plates on discogs after it has been released, but still... it's new Burial! :D

Don't you feel that takes away some of the magic? Ever since I was little there's always been something special about getting your record/cd/etc from the shop (or increasingly from the postman these days), opening it up, putting it on for the first time and not having a clue what it's going to sound like. A sort of excitement that (for me) isn't there if I know exactly what it's going to sound like.

In fact, with some of my favourite stuff, I actually make a point of avoiding listening to it until I have the real, tangible product in my possession.

EDIT: With the above in mind, I have bought the shit out of this.

Ugh, no offense to Burial but this is RETARDED. "I'll just gyp all of my fans outside the UK because they happen to live outside the UK because I'm too cool to make a pressing of a single in any sane amount of quantity!"

Yeah I'm angry, so what?
