Really, we crashed out that night and missed Aphex. I saw him in 09 and he was ace and was expecting big things from him this year. Gutted I missed it, give me the run down if you'd be so kind!
The unexpected treat for me was Jerome Hill on Thursday night, teasing in 'The Vamp' scratching up a storm and dropping 'Skeng'. Pure class DJ. i'd go as far as saying he's the DJs DJ. :n:

We must have been watching a different Mala cos I remember him dropping bare deep tunes. Eyez, Alicia, Feel It, just to name a few... where were you?

finally saved up enough money to experience the UK for the first time this March. did FWD, DMZ, Dubloaded, BLOC...

and I come on here after some of the best nights I have EVER had, to find some anonymous kid behind a computer screen bitching about the stupidest little things. you realize how lucky you all are right?? you get to see these acts that kids all over the world dream about seeing, on a regular basis, a mere train-ride or car-ride away. I've waited years to finally get a chance to see Mala on his home turf, on IMO one of the best sounding soundsystems I have ever heard music on and his set was easily one of the best I saw at BLOC.

you're complaining about him reloading a Coki clanger too many times because it was only 9:30pm?! fwiw, that tune was completely deserving of that treatment (was not spongebob) and if you can't enjoy yourself at a party like that, I have absolutely no idea what to tell you. that festival is the best thing I could ever imagine or dream of and instead of going to one of the other 4 stages stacked with world class DJ talent, you chose to come on to DSF to bitch about a reload.

get a grip homeboy.

or just switch places with me and you can experience our shitty club soundsystems here in the States while I swim around in Funktion-One sub across the Atlantic.
truth in the booth, big ups :W:

the wiggle baron wrote: Tis the only problem with bloc for me. For techno/house/anything else riding the kickdrum more theyre fine, but the systems they get really cant quite do "subloaded" justice. However, the single most thing that stuck out to me about malas set, was just how much heavier it was sounding on the rig than anyone elses! I dont know if he just cranked it into the red or whatever, but the bass on mountain dread march actually made even horror show sound a bit weak :o I guess I was right in the middle centre, could very well have made a difference.

Funny how the trend of this site that's supposed to support the "scene" is trying to tell djs how to do their job.

As a gringo lost in the midwest, i'd give one of my nuts to see the legends in action.

A run down? ermmm hahah, It was pretty much pure heavy techno, missed the last half hour though. And i don't really know anything about techno so I can't really help. But he dropped Endgames - Ecstacy (Jam City Refix) and it went the fuck off, highlight of the whole night for me, love that tune.

Sometimes I feel like the UK doesn't understand how spoiled they are with good dubstep nights compared to USA
