Anyone have insight as to what kind of FX chains these dons are throwing on their bass? Shaping the initial sound is the easy part... filter envelopes are easily the most important part for shaping, but after that I'm stumped. Honestly, any amount of Scream 4 that I throw on just turns the sound to absolute shite. It's like i've hit a brick wall with distortion in Reason and everything starts to sound the same.
I have, however, discovered how useful the CV pots on the back of Scream 4 are for creating sloppy wobs. Try setting scream to warp, bring down the body scale to 0-20 range, crank the resonance up, and put the auto filter around 2 or three o'clock. Then take your filter envelope CV and connect it to the scale CV on the back of scream for some wonky results. MAKE SURE ITS SCREAM BODY B... those requake guys love scream body B
anyone have recommendations for FX chains?
also I knows that phasers can play a huge role in breathing life into great bass patches, but I can't figure out how to use it properly. It just sounds super cheesy to me, how do yall use phasers on bass patches?
