i talked about that on the infamous rant thread..

on gearslutz, whenever u post a topic, it conducts an automatic search on threads already present..

and goes like r u sure it hasnt been discussed...

if it has and it pops up, u instantly kinda feel like a pure gonad.

Okay guys, I'm new to this site, and I knew right away you guys would be able to help me out.
subject: excisions opening shambalha alien... robot voice.
Take shamb. 2010 for example. during the opening you can hear an alien, or robot..
whatever you wanna call it, and it is telling us our planet is near destruction .... yadda, yadda.
but lets cut to the chase, ive been trying to replicate this sound for EVER!!! and i need some feedback
from you guys on how i can do this.
it would make my life, to figure out how to do this.. cause you gotta admit, its kickass.

lol ok wait, you are talking about the VOICE OVER in the INTRO??? ends by saying "power up the bass cannon"??
hire a voice over actor that sounds like barry white.. then distortion, downsampling, and pitchshift down several octaves. then layer/distort more/compress. you wont get the same effect but thats the idea.

FYI.. saying ANYTHING about excision or robots on this forum is like pouring seal blood all over yourself and then jumping into a shark tank... so uhm, good luck :corndance: :corndance: :corndance:

oooh 'zinged' by electric head.

i didnt know i couldnt answer a noob's question (and give him a warning about his incoming flames) instead of berating him for speaking the name excision in the holy land of the deep dubstep heads. :a: :a: :a: :a:

apparently if you try to warn someone about getting flamed, you get flamed instead. cool, bring on the alpaca parade :corndance:

The DOA "Grid" forum is a great resource and I'm sure the production forum here is too. Just stay out of the "how to make excision and datsik bass" bullshit and you'll be fine.

i have a question on re-sampling, im sure theres a thread on it but its fairly relevant here,

when re-sampling how long do you tend to make the sample?

do you ever use one instance of the bounced wave, then looping it in the sampler? if so how does it differ?

It varies what sound im trying to get. If its just a short effect, then it will be pretty small.
Didnt really get your 2nd question :? ( maybe cus im half asleep, haha :P )
