I have said this before - Production forum has gone to shit.

Experimentation is probably the best part of making music for me. I just don't understand the massive amount of "How do I?" question on here. There are few posts recently that if I see that the have had certain individuals involved I won't even click on them. Trolls are getting a bit more snide and clever lately and as someone mentioned, it's had to tell who's legit anymore :?

Im actually glad i saw this thread as a) deadly is legit and b) i wanted to write this thread as i dont get it!
I swear back in the DnB days it wasnt like this (okay maybe the alien girl bass people wanted to know) ... oh yea then noisa came about and then i saw alot of how do i make reesce like them.

Its a shame really cause back in the day there was no youtube tutorial on how to work a synth. and i even saw a sample pack of presets and the two folders were datsik and skrillex (honestly) never seen anything like it before.

Its sad but im kinda hoping that these people will try and make there willix bass make a crap tune then give up...
Im guessing its sex.. the increase in hipster chicks saying the like dubstep (only the snare on 3 tearout stuff) and teenage boys going... hmm.. if i was skrillix i could get laid... DSF HELP ME GET LAID!!!!!

what kind of threads would you like to see more of? i cant think of anything to contribute :( cuz i havent got much to bring to the table that hasnt already been discussed (until ive figured out Pd, reactable and can make a thread on making tangible user interfaces for makeing wubstep) ,

hang on i'll start the 2000th how do i sound like skrillex thread this week, i'd rather have a discussion on wtf is going on and how to quell this problem so the board can have some semblance of order and not a clusterfuck of how do i sound like threads.

can we get a post limit or time base before being able to post a new thread on this board please mods or just lock and refer to the stickies as we did with the last influx of this posting trend. as others have said it's getting hard to tell who is legit around here. has me spending less and less time here.

I think it stems from impatient new kids wanting to make the 'coolest' sound ever. I think this is the wrong angle to take when getting into production tbh. I think one of my blessings when I started out was having an open mind. I liked all sorts of stuff, didn't really care what I made, just enjoyed making it. From there, after learning what I was actually doing, did I begin to go after these sounds...

Then again, I'm in no real position to be talking. Who the fuck am I in the wide worlds of brostep & dubstep hahahaha

I've not gave a fuck about the dubstep for a long time, only interested in production and geeking out over software and techniques and loling, so I take these bellend with a pinch.

In the words of the ordinary boys "you tried to be so different, just like everybody else"

No one wants to be original anymore. Its an easy option to sound like someone else, and its a shortcut to impressing your mates, and you think youre making good music - which you are, cus its exactly the same as something that exists.

Can't agree with this at all. It's just that dubstep is entering mainstream and becoming -the- sound to make. Visit the other music production forums and you'll see similar trends as their genres gain popularity and then die off.
