That arpeggiated 8Bit sound?

I looked hi and lo for the best synth to recreate this sound. By far the best synth I found is the Chipsounds by Plogue arts http://www.plogue.com/?page_id=43 In my opinion it has the best sounds for 8bit, it emulates a wide variety of chips, come with tons of awesome presets, and it's arpeggiator section is brilliant. Plus it has a wave sequencer which is like an arpeggiator but slightly different. It's definitely the goto synth for a lot of 8 bit producer. 2nd in line is the ReFx QuadraSid http://refx.com/products/quadrasid/summary/

I also found this really cool tutorial on using arpeggiaiton in Logic's Enviroment. It's not as hard as it sounds and can be really cool if the synth you want to use doesn't have an arpeggiator http://audio.tutsplus.com/tutorials/pro ... -in-logic/

I also have a question concerning arpeggaition if anyone can help. It's a certain sound I'm after that I hear in bass music or steet bass, a fast arp up and down. It should be easy to make but I'm having a hard time for some reason. Here is an example Soundcloud

yeah Chipsounds is pretty great and I'd love to have it, but I just can't justify that high of a price when I already have LSDJ and other VSTs that can emulate some of the older chips...

Get yourself Basic 64. It's a wicked freeware synth and arp your ass off

I'm using Logic Pro, However i can't seem to find an arpeggiator, Will i have to input the notes manually using piano roll? I was sort of looking for a VST that had one built in, as the track above seems like the synth was made using a VST arp rather than manual input

yeah, I use a crack. for sure that arp in that song can be found with chipsounds, it's a standard patch. I wanted to figure it out too, I kept hearing that arp in songs and couldn't quite emulate with any of the synths I found, until I got Chipsounds. The answer to OP's question is in the name. 8 bit= square waves. Arpeggiated= notes of a chord played individually and in succession.
So just put a square wave playing like C E G C or something in your sequencer. As easy as 3.14.
