Re: Youngest producer on DSF?
I feel old being 21 now haha!! I joined this board when I was 16 and at the time I was one of the handful of young people on here, mental! I remember dubstep being full of 20-30somethings who still like to go out to clubs. Times have changed :O.

I'm 18, but why does age even matter?
A new ridiculously talented -14 year old blows up on youtube every month, as annoying as it is I think it kinda proves that age is hardly an obstacle anymore.
Well, physical age at least. The kids that get popular are the ones who aren't total shits.

Well, I don't like my own songs, even if they seem good to other people. I try reason even now and then, but mainly use (big shocker here) FL studio. I definitely don't make and completely hate those "SCKRILLECKS BASE" threads that pop up every five minutes. Music shouldn't be judged by how old someone is, it should just be something that everyone can listen to and produce without it being a total blood bath

Re: Youngest producer on DSF?
There's loads of hugely talented, ridiculously young guys on here (Zerbaman, Grumblex etc) makes me wish I'd started at their age. I'm 24 now and kind feel a bit old for all this lark haha
Re: Youngest producer on DSF?
I'm totally the same. I just wish someone had told me it was even possible to make this kind of music in a home set up sooner. Starting at 19 just feels like it's totally hopeless I'll ever get anywhere with it cos I'm already 7 years of practice behind lots of my peers at the same agejaydot wrote:There's loads of hugely talented, ridiculously young guys on here (Zerbaman, Grumblex etc) makes me wish I'd started at their age. There was this kid a while ago:paravrais wrote:Give me one example?!
Then this girl:
Shit music, but they obviously have talent and they seem like nice enough kids (the girl is from my town, she was on the radio 24/7 for a week or two). I'm really just saying age hardly matters anymore. Obviously it's a little different in electronic music, I couldn't imagine an 11 year old kid producing huge tracks, but some of the most import things in that regard are more knowledge based than skill based.
Also, by "not total fucks" I mean, they don't troll forums 24/7 and wonder why they aren't famous after making music for two weeks.
Re: Youngest producer on DSF?
I'm 24.
I feel like I got a late start as far as producing goes, having only started in November, but I've always been very musical, and an info-junkie, so I feel like I'm catching up.

Re: Youngest producer on DSF?
I have always been quite musical in my life, switching from drums to trumpet to guitar to now dub step. I prefer the more musical side and melodically better sounding part of dubstep because of it

Re: Youngest producer on DSF?
im 20. only started to fuck with reason when i was 19. so i feel very far behind. i wish i had someone that made music in my life when i was younger because i probably would have followed. unfortunately just last year i finally realized that i love music and technical stuff like this so i should give it a go. been self teaching and learning slowly but surely...im hoping by the time im like 25 ill be able too produce quality tracks.
my friends like some of my tunes but they are far from quality
