For the first time ever, a CIRCUS is coming to town!!! Prepare yourself for a a bass-filled, circus spectacular where fun is no illusion. Bassmasters Flux Pavilion and Doctor P will lead the crowd through a kaleidoscope of color and imagery revealing extraordinary worlds of fantasy, flight and phenomena that celebrates the uplifting spirit of the circus. Be transported into a true circus vibe, featuring a massive sound system which will allow you to levitate on bass weight, full array lighting which will transport the senses through a kaleidoscope of color and imagery revealing extraordinary worlds of fantasy. Stand in awe as a dazzling ariel artist performs a perilous, anatomically unimaginable one-arm speed-spin high atop the arena floor, and two formidable, bass canons will be blasted through the air. Become electrified as stilt walkers, fabric dancers and and array of performers defy both gravity and logic.

in general it isn't just the promoters fault tbh - though this looks like naked profteering.

Prices for artists are so insanely high right now that anyone less than a big brostep act is just not viable - this is due to bigger agencies getting involved as well as higher fees from the artists themselves. some tour agencies are straight taking the piss - and i'm sure the artists is seeing less than half what we're being quoted sans flight share.

i've seen prices triple in the space of two years and this just isn't sustainable, without naming acts NZ has missed out on some serious quality this year due to ever increasing prices. Realistically for someone like kode9, youngsta, loefah, etc you're looking at 200-300 people (BEST case) in the capital at say 25 a piece. taking into account venue, system, advertising that leaves about 3k NZD left over for support djs, riders, hotels, flight/visa share, artist fee. It's just not feasible.

Unfortunate but understandable :( It amazes me that we get some of the acts we do in our corner of the world.

I'm glad we still get cats like kode9, appleblim, James Blake , 2562, etc at $10 a show in intimate clubs around here. Big up peoples with decibel, car crash, etc for making such things happen. I would be bummed if I had to pay that much to see my favorite artists

it costs a lot of money to bring UK talent over on legit visas (ie not taking the risk of riding a vacation too long and being banished). Plane tickets, hotels, even cheap you're talking hundreds a night per artist.

DJ's who are paid on a regular basis don't qualify for B2 visas... so the fees just for coming to play a single show (legitly) are going to be $1500+, you likely have to have a sponsor (most likely a tour promoter) so gotta pay that dude for organizing everything and getting his cut. Booking agent, cut. Local promoter now, venue, sound, etc everyone is making cash off it somehow. Thus you have $40 parties.

i saw chase and status live in hollywood for 20$, i think that is fairly reasonable considering how expensive live sets cost with all the equipment n shizz

and truth is playing tonite in downtown LA for 10$....5$ before 11 o clock, honestly i think prices really do change once the artist is on tour though imo

and u can bet if this event was 18+/ 21+ the ticket prices wouldn't be as high cuz no adult would pay that money for this. only explanation here is shady greedy jew promoters, or the expo center must be expensive as fuck to rent

if it's under18s then it's always going to be more expensive because the club makes very little money behind the bar

Youngsta, Icicle, Distance, Kryptic Minds, DJ Madd at Plastic People May12th. Normal FWD price is 7 sterlings. 100% value for money. Although I'm guessing they'll charge a bit more for this EPIC lineup. I wouldn't let someone pay me to go see Doctor Piss and Toss Pavillion.

Yeah it amazes me that we get what we get. I always wonder how all the shows last year at Cassette 9 were only $10. Ramadanman, Addison Groove, Oneman etc
