thanks for the input guys.

i wish i knew someone that was very good at piano so they could teach me in a not so formal way.

i do learn better when im shown how to do things and explained in person. but im sure i can get it with a lot of perseverance and dedication. slowly but surely.

The keyboard is actually pretty easy to learn and there's no need to be an awesome player to be able to play awesome EDM melodies. Paying lessons are a waste of money unless you want to play complex jazz/classical pieces imo.

Off topic but still relevant : learning music theory works well with learning to play the keyboard and will definitely help writing better music.

yeah i was already looking at that one. which would you recommend of the two? im leaning towards the for computer musicians because i read that the author uses screen shots of the piano roll vs music notes (which i cant read). and he references to reason, so it would be relevant to me.

Cant vouch for it as yet. Read about a million reviews tho and people swear by it! My Mrs bought it for me and not had a chance to sit down with it yet. looks pretty comporehensive tho. U can download the first 6 lessons for free
